Who responds, and why.
Life sciences research on predictive biomarkers for treatment response.
What we do
Two people given the same treatment can have two different outcomes.
We work on telling those two people apart beforehand — identifying who is likely to respond to a given treatment, and understanding what separates them from those who will not.
This is the problem precision medicine calls patient stratification: finding the predictive biomarkers that distinguish a responder from a non-responder before treatment begins rather than after. It is the difference between knowing a therapy works in a population and knowing it will work for a person.
Our analysis plans are written down and locked before any results are looked at, and the work to date is built entirely on publicly available studies.
The same star, measured two ways
About us
To the eye, Mintaka is a single point of light.
It is the westernmost star of Orion’s Belt. Turn a good enough instrument on it and that one point separates into a system of stars — and the better the instrument becomes, the more there is to see.
The company takes its name from that, because it is the same problem in a different sky. What a coarse measurement reports as one thing, a finer one resolves into several. The work is building instruments fine enough to resolve them.
